15 Nov Time for an MRI in Mexico, or, There goes the neck again
So there I was, minding my own bussiness checking out some Playstation 4 news in the internet, whne BAM! There went my neck again. I have to say at this point I am getting pretty sick of it and it is becoming more and more of a hindrance.
For those of you who don’t know about a year ago I hurt my neck in the gym. Since then it has come and gone to varying degrees, even requiring a doctors visit and some shots at one point. Unfortunately the doctors visit and X-rays, and the subsequent physiotherapy and chiropractic visits were useless and did little more than cost money. Just a few weeks ago I had to give myself a anti-inflamatory shot in the leg, and now today, I stood up and off it went again.
So I have decided to do what I really didn’t want to, which is go to the doctor and probably get an MRI. Although an MRI in Mexico is a lot cheaper than the US or Australia (from what I have read it should cost between $600 and $800 for the MRI), it is still $800 I would rather not waste. Of course it is not a waste if it leads to fixing the problem, but my past experiences with doctors in every country have not left me confident that it will.
Anyways now I sit here with limited motion in my neck waiting for 6pm when I get to go and plonk down $50 on an appointment and hope for the best. I truly hope this leads to a solution as the idea of spending the rest of my life being cautious every time I move, and still having this happen is a sad one, especially because I am thinking of taking up a new hobby which requires a bit of upper body strength and a lot of upper body movement.
So it sucks, but such is life. wish me luck…
