Our road trip is over and we are back in Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, Mexico. Our adopted home. For sure we had a good time but it was also really taxing and far removed from the lifestyle we have enjoyed for the last 9 months. I have a few posts to catch up on to fill you all in on the details and will do so over the coming days. I also have work to catch up on, which although by no means a lot, feels strange when before I had gone away I thought myself pretty much work free.
But no matter, it is good to be home. Everything is simpler here in Playa, maybe just because we know what to expect form the place, but simpler none the less. We know where the good food is at. We know we can walk down the street and get a great coffee, and more than anything I know how comfy my bed is and that the pillows are just the right height and softness.
In more ways than I would have thought this trip has given me something to think about. And that is what I aim to do, eventually…
Interesting to learn that you, like several other friends, left South Africa early in life. Glad to see your new site. Hope to meet you when we return to Playa in Dec. or Jan.
I think a lot of South Africans got out when they could, yet I am still surprised to meet them in other countries. I look forward to it Bonnie 🙂
