Oh Naples you filthy filthy cow, don't ever change. Today I went to Naples and was blown away by this gritty, sometimes scary but always interesting city. I went on a whim and am chuffed as hell.

Rome felt a bit Disney to me. This felt like stepping into what I've always imagined Italy to be. Loud, messy and full of life. This city is in my book a must see. The food, the old mafioso looking men and women and the scruffy kids shouting and running through the old Spanish quarter dodging scooters ripping around corners without a care.

Naples is a visual, auditory and foodie delight which I intend to write a post about it surprised me so much.

  1. I wasn’t overly impressed with Naples. Don’t get me wrong the buildings, atmosphere, streets etc were amazing. It was the piled up rubbish everywhere, and on the way to Mt Vesuvius, that got me, together with the awful graffiti on their glorious old buildings – must have something to do with me belonging to the older generation!? But in its defence I did have a delicious genuine Margherita pizza and Italian food is my favourite food.
Still really enjoying all your posts – all so interesting 😀 – makes you want to go there to have a look
