Back to the West Bank today. More in depth look into a focus point of the conflict, Hebron. We went around the Palestinian side of the blockade talking to the few locals still around about what was happening. Guard towers, checkpoints, a lot of guns and barbed wire control peoples every move and local shop owners beg us to please buy something because "hardly anyone comes here now".
We were then shown the site where Muslims were massacred as they prayed by an American gunman.
We passed back over to the Israeli side with patrols, military exercises in the street and a lot more guns passing by as we spoke about the Israeli point of view, and then were shown the site where Jewish people were massacred in 1929 by Muslim neighbours .
So much anger and fear on both sides. I am glad I have seen it with my own eyes. And I am sad to hear about the attack in Jordan today. I was there a few days ago and the locals were trying to get their tourism on track in spite of the issues with their neighbours, and then this.
