Great day flying with Paul and Calina today. All around the lake and all up to the back peak. I flew my longest time wise flight today at 4 hours and 20 minutes. Knackered now after the 2 hour hike up first. Very satisfying day.
Welcome. I don’t use this much blog anymore, but there is still some good content here from back in the day, and I still travel a lot. Now though I just share on my Facebook and Youtube channels and then share that content here.
Congratulations Calina on her fist time breaking 40km! I stayed behind as I'm water fasting for (hopefully) 7 days, zero calories. Day 3 today and I feel weak but not too bad, usually around day 4 your body starts to find energy from its existing
Calina’s birthday today! Started of with done Asian food from the local market, then a great 2 hour hike up the mountain, followed by our second time flying over and around the lake! 2 hours in the air and do much fun. Now time for
Watched some of the tour de France today. 2 hours of waiting for literally 5 seconds of cycling! Makes parawaiting seem like a doddle but we also got this free stuff thrown to us before they came 😁 Link to original post on Facebook with
A day off of flying yesterday due to rain, but went to an unexpected free Ska concert in the park for a bit of a dance. Then today a great 2 hour hike, then 2 hour flight up to cloudbase and over the lake in
Another great couple of days flying. Today from a new spot a free bus ride and a chairlift away, La Sambuy at 1800 meters launch. Strong varying winds and super concentrated thermals made for tricky flying but also very interesting! And of course the view
Back in Annecy and our first flight was awesome! We hiked up to launch, and then after almost an hour scratching low on the ridge in ragged bouncy thermals managed to climb out to 2300 meters together and do a full tour de lac! 33km
We are on the road again! After leaving Algodonales behind yesterday we drove up the coast to a spot Calina and I visited a year and a half ago, before Lemonade. Santa Pola. Wind was too light to fly but the water is beautiful for
The heat down here is even too much for the birds! Luckily Calina saved the day and after 2 days nursing it back to health (force feeding it the flies she mercilessly hunted down) it flew the coop this afternoon. Link to original post on
Not sure if flying over the back of Poniente and then bombing out 10km away counts as XC, but I did have to hitch hike back to town from the countryside so getting closer 😁 Link to original post on Facebook with more images
Great day of hiking and flying. Hiked up the mountain twice and flew twice. Second flight was an hour and a half landing at sunset at 21:30! Oh and we saw a couple snakes. Link to original post on Facebook with more images
Birth – day 2… another great day because one birthday isn’t enough 😁. More cake, high wind ground handling and a hike up to launch for 2 hours of flying from 7pm to 9pm, watching the sun set from the air. Then Calina played me
Never did I think when I was 37 (yesterday my number went up) I would be living in a van, still travelling the world or hiking up and flying off of mountains. Great little hike and fly on my birthday with Calina and Andrew. Oh
Great day of playing yesterday. Super soaring ground handling high wind session on the edge of the plateau. About a dozen top landings and 2 hikes back up the 300 meter hill. Fun to hover a few meters above the ground and learn more control.
Au revoir France, hola Spain. Check out this randomly awesome 360 degree launchable plateau we stumbled across on our way to Piedrahita! Link to original post on Facebook with more images
After rain rain and more rain in Annecy we have decided to head south. A brief stop at a potential flying site on the coast and we found a beautiful spot (and weather) to dry out. Wind is too light for soaring but it was
